Chtulhu - The Cosmic Abyss

Hello!
I’m very happy to finally share the work I did on Chtulhu: The Cosmic Abyss, the first video game I had the opportunity to work on, from pre-production all the way to release.
This project was a great opportunity to help establish and structure the entire character pipeline at Big Bad Wolf, in close collaboration with the rigging, animation, and tech art teams.
I’m therefore very proud to present a part of my work on this project, created as part of a small team of two character artists and a lead.

For the Yith statues, as a Character Artist, I had the opportunity to support the environment team by creating several statues, including the one featured in the beautiful levels by Alexandre Boisbelet.
For this asset, I worked closely with Thomas Veauclin (Art Director) to quickly explore strong shapes directly in 3D concept. We also focused on finding a compelling pose that would highlight the key design elements described in Lovecraft’s texts, to fit the original depiction.
